W: Is the site secure? We’re thinking of leaving some of our equipment here to save on setup time.
Bureaucrat: Our facility is perfectly secure. We have the police guarding it.
Me: The doors are locked?
B: Oh, yes.
W: Ok, we’ll take the camera home, but we’ll leave the laptops here. Is that okay?
B: Laptops? Oh no. They’re the first thing to go. We have people walking around,… and our insurance won’t cover it.
Perfectly bloody insecure then.
B: We can’t give you access to the control room because you are not working for us, you are working for an external. There is some valuable equipment in there.
W: There is XLR outlets on the walls, can we hook into them?
B: Oh no, they’re only for the control room.
W: What about the AC outlets?
B: No, once again they are reserved only for the control room.
Me: So we have to bring our own power generator?
B: What do you mean?
Me: We need power to run our equipment.
B: Ohhh, power! Yes, you can use the power sockets. I was trying to work out what you meant by AC.
